the famous wine production campaigns just 29 km from here…
The Chianti is a geographical area located in the countryside between Florence and Siena, dedicated to the production of the famous Chianti wines.
The main farms and producers established a consortium named “Gallo nero” whose symbol identifies the traditional Chianti wine, made of at least 75% of San Giovese grapes. Hence the first place where you must stop coming from the camp-site and heading into Via Chiantigiana, will be Greve in Chianti, the authentic core of the wine.
You can also admire and visit the many Castles like Vicchiomaggio and Da Verrazzano in the vicinity, whose cellars can be visited besides the many family farms.
